Day 1 ~ Moved by the encounter with the parents of Yunho and Changmin after the concert

Tokyo Dome 3-days concert has finally come. Please note that this report contains some spoiler.

On Day 1 at Tokyo Dome, as usual all of the lights went off a few mins after Sam-san (Total Stage Producer) got himself in his seat, then the dome turned into Red Ocean of 55,000 people. It took my breath away, “Wow~, so beautiful~”. With the happiness of being able to see this again, tears spontaneously rolled down on my cheeks.

The Red Ocean of 32,000 people with the stadium mode at Saitama Super Arena was quite a grand sight though (TSC concert and T concert were held in the smaller arena mode at the same venue), Tokyo Dome is really something special. The boys have surely come back to the stage of Tokyo Dome for us after 3 years. Welcome back.

The opening video was different from the one used in the arena tour, “Wow, it’s different” I was drawn to it straight away. In the new video, Changmin’s hair style was new so they must have shot it after the arena tour. Yes, Changmin’s visual is (also) MAX. After his Momo-Changmin period, his new style is “chego”.

The “Magenda” video in the middle was also changed from the one in the arena tour as well as a new video was added before the encore. This is purely my impression as non-professional though, it looked very much like SM’s video. It’s like swimming, like flying, the running scean, and the ones which were suggestive of the videos at Mirotic concert or Super Show. Maybe they used the same video artist for this.

The set list went on almost the same as the arena tour. But the camera posing skill of the boys definitely improved even more. They surely know what they are doing! (Laugh)
There was an accident that Changmin’s umbrella was reversed during “Maximum”, so he was forced to continue his dance without the umbrella. His face looked pretty tense at that time. (Did some staffs get scolded by Sam-san later?) At the end of “Duet”, there was additional melody following to it so I thought “Oh my goodness, is TWUA (The Way U Are) coming next? Is it going to be like Fukui Day 2 again?” and I was so hyped up to do the song call (of TWUA). But it simply moved on to the next song “I Don’t Know”, I was bit disappointed. They already made the perfect TWUA full version with two of them, I was looking forward to listening to it. Fingers crossed for Kyocera Dome!

Then “Break Out!”, some dance choreography was changed after coming out to the center stage.
It looked more robotic and more difficult one. After “Break Out!”, I saw the trolleys coming out and as expected the additional song was “We Are!” (and We are T!). My tension went up to the roof.

Around Changmin’s solo “Rusty Nail”, many staffs started moving around with tension between the arena area and the stand, I was excited “Probably the trolleys are coming soon~”. My thought was it would be better to throw the balls while the trolleys are driving on than while they are stopping. In that way, fans all around the dome would have an equal chance to catch a ball.

After they sang “Easy Mind” on the trolleys, they moved back to the back stage for “Summer Dream”. Their family members were sitting right in front of the back stage, so they were able to see their family up close, I guess that made the boys happy.

During the encore, they did MC back on the moving trolleys then sang “Still” at the back stage again.
What a surprise, it came “Shine” as an additional song. They did not do this at TSC concert though, I really enjoyed “Shine” at T concert as it was reaching to the climax without pausing from “Shine” to the finale, so my tension went up by another knot.
The last sequence “Weep” – “MC” – “Somebody To Love” and the ending VTR were unchanged from the arena tour.

After the Day-1 in Tokyo Dome, my friend and I were talking heatedly like “I am so happy to be alive” “I now really understand that people actually cry with happiness” and headed toward a restaurant we frequent after a Dome concert.

At the restaurant, the family members of the boys came and sat right next to our table. We could not believe our luck. Indeed, we were really happy to be alive.
As not wanting to cause any trouble among the fans for them, we remained very low-key about it until the very end. But when we asked them to check if they are the ones, indeed they were. Changmin’s father said in fluent Japanese “Please keep giving your support to Tohoshinki”.

Yunho’s father was handsome. The both fathers looked very much down-to-earth and we were convinced why their sons grew up with honest heart and humble attitude like they do now.

The family did not even have any helping Japanese staff with them, so Changmin’s father handled the food order and got the bill. The family members of the Asian super stars are at the ordinary-people’s restaurant is “Arienai, Maji de Arienai♪(Impossible, really impossible♪ – lyrics from “I Don’t Know”)”

Day 2 ~ U-know's manly tears for the surprise project

Attached Image: monthly_04_2012/post-815-0-23254500-1334958881.jpg

On the second day we coudn't cool down from excitement(from the first day) yet. When I saw two kings standing on the stage and emitting full aura, I had this strange feeling "was it real that their parents were sitting right by us last night?"

Day two, there was a surprise project staffs seem to really want to make it happen, so they walked around telling audience to take light sticks off seats which were taped on seats. I had a premium seat on that day. When staffs found people who are holding light sticks, they instructed them "it's a surprise project, so put it away until the time comes". ( this instruction wasn't given to my friend who didn't sit in a premium seat so that means staffs was careful around premium seats since the members could see). Then the surprise for "STILL" was a big success.

Nobody has broke a stick to light ealier like that happened for "Stand By U" at TSC(The Secret Code) concert. So it was wonderful when the whole venue turned white at the same time.

This incident made THAT U-know cry as a man. He was probably recalling when the blue-colored Tokyo dome for "Stand By U" three years ago. He might have thought he'd ever see that kind of scene again... When STILL started, his eyes were already filled with tears.

Then at the last part when they introduced dancers and band members, I couldn't help crying hard since I have never seen U-know crying that much. (I might have made fans who attended to Tohoshinki's concert for the first time feel awkward). I thought it was good for him that he could cry in front of fans as much as he wanted.

Then I remembered when I asked my Korean friend, "What do you think about the image toward U-know in Korea as a strong and masculine character of man?" My friend spoke to me, "In Korea, his position is to protect Tohoshinki, but in Japan there's no any boundary (she said 'line' in English) between family and fans, so fans are same existence as family. So he doesn’t hesitate (she used 'comfortable' in English) to show true himself".

That's true since U-know told us 'fans are like my family' in arena concert. Maybe that's why he could cry freely without holding back in front of fans. When U-know couldn't talk because he was choking, Changmin quickly covered him and continue MC. He's such a reliable young brother. Changmin's expression was very gentle. You couldn't cry since Hyung had cried, could you?

At the very end, when they left the stage, U-know yelled "I was happy!". I'm happy, too, when U-know is happy.

With happy feeling, continue to the last day of Tokyo dome.

Day 3 ~ Exhausted but refreshed looking U-know

Attached Image: monthly_04_2012/post-815-0-42448100-1334958882.jpg

U-know on day three. He looked refreshed as if he took off heavy armor. The Chagmin fan next to me even said "U-know, he looks good today".

Duo showed exhaustion(especially Changmin, he was squatting while U-know was talking during MC. I think his feet were seriously hurting), however they danced perfectly and their MC was perfect.

On this dome live, I'm satisfied with the fact they stick with keeping male dancers without adding Yoja(female) dancers for the purpose of making look attractive. Thank you Sam-san. Checkmate is my trauma(laugh).

However, only one complain I have for dome performance is that U-know's 'Honey Funny Bunny' was toned down. Is 'Honey Bunny' on the first day of Yokohama arena has been sealed? I hope they will add 'Honey Bunny' from Yokohama arena's first day to DVD. I will accept even if it's special video only for first limited edition.

Only 3 days at Kyocera are left. I'm excited in thinking what's going to come for double encore but after all concerts are done, I'm afraid I would be a wreck. I'm telling myself what Changmin had said, "I don't want you to make Tohoshinki your whole life".

Thank you for very touching 3-day report. I could feel the atmosphere of the concert vividly.

The long tour is over and the grand finale, with Kyocera dome left. Fans will suffer from burn-out syndrome, I think.
